What Is APSOQ?

Court reporting in Quebec is a profession dating back to New France. As of 1608, the presiding judge is accompanied by an officer of the court. In accordance with the Ordinance of 1777 for establishing courts of civil judicature in Quebec, reporting testimony in written form becomes mandatory.

APSOQ, formed in late 1966, is the only recognized association of court reporters in Quebec. It represents its members in all matters concerning court reporting.
