The profession of official court reporting in Quebec dates back to 1608 under the French Regime when Judges were then assisted by law officers. In 1777, with the Mandatory Order to Regulate the Rules of Civil Procedure of the Province of Quebec under the Act of Quebec, written testimonial proof became an obligation.
APSOQ is the association of official court reporters in Quebec. Its main role is that of representing its members for legislative bills, departmental joint committees and general public issues.
