Official Court Reporter

What is an Official Court Reporter?

An Official Court Reporter is an officer of the Superior Court, a law officer and a public officer. Selected by the parties, the official court reporter authenticates exhibits, creates the verbatim record of the proceedings and certifies that the resulting written transcripts are accurate. Due to this significant role in the administration of justice, and for purposes of neutrality, the official court reporter is not allowed to act simultaneously as lawyer and bailiff.
